I had a good time. Lots of activities packed into a short visit to Whitehorse. Timetable was a bit tight between activities, and communication could have been more exact, but all worked out and people were consistently pleasant. The selected restaurant for the group meal was excellent and I would recommend it highly!

Great trip but could use a bit more details. Guides were friendly and informative. Hotel was awesome.

Even though the northern lights were uncooperative there were other celestial interests which made up for the "long nights". The dog sledding was a real treat and at each event we participated in there were interesting and knowledgeable people to make us better informed and appreciative of the work the people around Whitehorse are doing. The weather was bitterly cold but complete sunshine made up for great photography. The Hyatt was very comfortable and pretty good food was available, although very little time was made in the schedule for hanging around eating and sleeping!!! Thanks for a great get away package. We loved the Yukon and made many lovely discoveries about our Canadian North.

Had a wonderful trip. Food good, accommodations great. Dog sledding experience fantastic. Very cold but it is winter time. Would recommend to friends.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. We were a group of 4 women aged 50+ travelling together from different parts of Canada. The initial meet up at the airport and transfer to the hotel was smooth and easy. The hotel was lovely. The bed was super comfy. Lots of hot water and towels. Coffee and Tea in the room. I felt safe walking around by myself and the food in both the restaurant and lounge was delicious. While All the experiences on this trip were great....the Dog Sledding was the highlight, the Northern Lights viewing was a lot of fun.... there were some definite issues that we ran into. The main one being a lack of communication between the Tour Partner (Northern Tales) and the people in the travel group. 1. We were never sure who was actually 'in charge' and who to go to with questions and concerns. Canadian Classic had a representative Aurora Expert (Joel - who was absolutely brilliant - a lovely young man!) who was completely over looked and mostly ignored by the representatives from Northern Tales. 2. There was no daily brief or de-brief at the start of the day nor at the end of the day to let us know what was happening. A quick gathering in the lobby with a brief review about what was to be expected and what would be happening would have been extremely helpful for everyone. 3. No one was properly introduced to us at any point during any of the activities that were run by other companies (Huskey Rush, etc.). We had to ask - 'Sorry, What's your Name?' all the time. 4. There was never any clear information regarding food and time for eating during the day, nor were we told if there would or would not be food available at the activities scheduled. We went hungry the first day and so brought food the next day and that day some food was provided for us. 5. The packing list was ridiculously incomplete, some said dangerously incomplete. 'dress in warm layers' & 'the weather at night in September can be cold' (we travelled in February) - think about what that statement would mean to someone travelling from a place like Australia , or someone from a place like Arizona may think an extra sweater would be sufficient - it doesn't cut it when it is minus 40 degrees at night. The winter clothing rental package should be included but is not and will cost an extra $200. CAD. 6. The Spa add on was definitely NOT as advertised, and was extremely disappointing. Seriously, I should have saved the money - stayed at the hotel and taken a bath..... It's A significant upcharge to the standard package cost (regularly $70., we paid $115. each) with only 1 small towel provided, no robe, slippers or deck shoes, etc., when I asked to switch out my sopping wet towel for a dry one I was told No..... when I insisted they begrudgingly gave in and provided me with one. No directions or information was given to us prior to entering the actual Spa. I looked for but never found the cold plunge pool, nor did I find a person working inside to ask. At the start We were left to try and stuff all our heavy and bulky winter outerwear as well as our regular clothing into a tiny grocery type handbasket to go in a tiny locker that was shared by 2.... later to find out there were large lockers in the lobby that we could have left our outer wear in before entering the spa. Again, lack of communication and direction by Northern Tales (Not Canadian Classic). The time scheduled on the Itinerary was for 3 hours but were told at the spa we would be picked up in 2 hours, and again no directions or information regarding food. 7. The Itinerary provided was woefully lacking information and the information that was provide was often contradictory to both the website information and the information that the Northern Tales guides provided to us. The major discrepancy being that The itinerary clearly stated that breakfast each day was included. We double checked with the hotel staff who confirmed that yes, breakfast was included. 2 days later we were told that no - breakfast was not included and we would have to pay for 1 of the 2 breakfasts that we had already had. An extremely unprofessional response to a mistake made by someone, whether the Hotel, Northern Tales or Canadian Classic. As a business You should never ask for money for something that you've given to people for free beforehand. You simply state that the mistake was made and going forward, Breakfast will no longer be included. To sum-up I would have to say that it is un-likely I will take another Canadian Classic Tour. While I enjoyed all the Activities and the Aurora viewing, all the little inconveniences and other troubles added up to make the over all experience disappointing. I will definitely NOT take a tour run by Northern Tales, as I think most of the fault lays with them. Thanks for listening, Linda
